>>41394281Tierno is your contest rival. He's still a dancer but now his team is themed around stat boosts and assists. For the most part his battles are done during the games contests, but the battles he has during the main campaign should be relatively challenging and well built but at the same time entirely optional. In Maison Multi-Battles his style would be built around boosting stats. He'd get a Kanto starter. Energetic, peppy.
Trevor would still be your dex rival, placed on each route. You compare your dex to his and if you caught more than him you receive a minor reward, and if you've caught everything on the route you get a TM. However in addition to this he'd have a team on each route based on what's available to capture (Barring whatever his ace anyway). Like Tierno these would be optional challenge battles you can participate in at points in the story for extra challenge. Trevor would also be used to give you various missions on each route. In the post game he can be battled with fully randomized comp-level teams. In multi-battle his style would be built around offense. Kind of quiet and shy.
Shauna wouldn't be a rival, but rather an ally. On each route you would be able to talk to her and turn on "doubles" mode. She wouldn't heal you after every fight but when you're walking alongside her all trainer battles are double battles, all wild battles are double or horde battles that you partake in with her at your side. However Suauna herself wouldn't capture anything other than her starter, and they wouldn't be exclusively AI-based. Instead you let her borrow your own Pokemon from the box, and she can either "takes your advice" on how to command them best or you can have the AI do as it wants. In the post game you'd unlock the ability to just bring her everywhere and she can turn gym battle, E4, trainer, and rival rematches into double battles. In Multi she does gain her own team, and her style is support. Girl.
