ie if Heatran's HP is 300 and Scizor's bullet punch does 30 damage, Scizor's bullet punch will deal a fat zero damage. If Kartana's sacred sword would do 300 damage, it now does 270 damage and Heatran gets to live. If Lando's earthquake does 330 damage then Heatran still dies.
Balanced out (lol not really) by the fact that Heatran has no recovery outside of Rest.
