>>37728615, but on the off chance you're not: Night Shade and Seismic Toss in Gen 1 aren't affected by type matchups in any way. Night Shade can hit Normal and Psychic types, despite a bug making them immune to Ghost-type moves in that gen, and Seismic Toss is the same versus Ghost-types. Normal, Ice, and Rock-types don't take extra damage from Seismic Toss, despite being weak to Fighting-type moves. Likewise, Ghost-types don't take extra damage from Night Shade despite being weak to Ghost-type moves.
In every generation that follows, Night Shade and Seismic Toss obey immunity rules (so Night Shade won't affect Normal-types, and Seismic Toss won't affect Ghost-types), but they otherwise ignore resistance and weakness like they did in Gen 1.
