Since we know for certain at least one of these will be coming in 2024/25, let's discuss our thoughts and ideas and any concerns we may have for the upcoming Johto remakes.
My main concern is that we'll get BDSP-style remakes in the style of GSC, with nothing taken from HGSS. That is of course the worst case scenario. The second worst case scenario is that it's a BDSP-style remake of HGSS with nothing changed, so the 7th Gym Leader will still be using a level 30 Seel and Blackthorn City will still be a shithole filled with mud huts.
Personally, if I were in charge of the Johto remakes, I'd do a re-imagining of the region in full 3D, so the routes are wider and more open and the houses in cities aren't just facing one direction anymore, it'd include everything from HGSS, and all the NPC teams would be completely reworked.
