Why should I be grateful when the game shows all the hallmarks of being a rushed mess when the quality was used as a scapegoat for that yanked feature? Or, to go back to gen III, why should I have been grateful to leave my bros behind? Especially when I was asked to buy a remake and two Gamecube games if I ever wanted to get new versions of them. Better question, why should I be grateful in a purely capitalistic exchange of resources? Why do I need to express gratitude to a company that doesn't care about me, for a product that I have to trade them resources for? If it were free, that'd be a different story, but it's not. Pokemon is not free. We have to invest in hardware just to enable ourselves to to purchase their software. They're not a caretaker lovingly giving us presents, they're a business presenting a product in exchange for money. Why should I be grateful, especially when the majority of their staff don't even do any overtime to make these games better?
When they do me a favor by exceeding my already low expectations, instead of failing to meet them, then I'll be grateful.
