>>42179332You have never sprited anything in your life I bet (to put my money where my mouth is here's a work I did a while back). 2D takes magnitudes more effort for even simple things than 3D which allows for large amounts of reused assets and animations to be recycled to save time. In addition, if a change to a character is made for whatever reason, it's trivial to change the 3D model, but you tell a sprite artist that the character is going to wear a trenchcoat instead of a hoodie, no jury would convict him for what he does to you.
