Like in Sword and Shield there was a missed opportunity to let you choose which of the rivals had to be your "sword" or "shield" depending by the version. I didn't want an useless character and trainer like Hop as my "shield" in my Sword playthough, i wanted Marnie, because i like her character, or even Bede, which was far more competent than Hop.
