The 'mixed up' gimmick, while an interesting idea, was executed terribly. Aesthetically they are gross. Instead of subtly communicating the gimmick, the mismatched body parts look nonsensical and clumsy. The color schemes are blindingly radioactive. They look like children's candies that have been melted in the sun and mushed together in a toddler's grimy hands.
If I had to pick one line of Pokemon to remove from the series forever, it would be the Gen 8 fossils.
