The wild area is a super enjoyable proof of concept, and I love the presentation of the gyms/league. However, the post game feels more barren than usual and having less pokemon available is just really poor. I like the new pokemon for the most part, I don't like the exp share always being on. I like the easy accessibility of competitive, I don't like the easiness of the game. And that's just sort of the problem, for every positive, I can think of a negative.
