>>21957218I think Racket is just a play on Rocket since they mention how they're so much better than Rocket. In reality they're just a bunch of punks going around looting shit and calling themselves an organization, but every time you meet them they're just stealing shit, and the leader is always near overworld items he was about to take, especially in the image I last posted.
The hack really doesn't take itself seriously, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since it means there's no edginess or anything. Plus, as much as town names like Cartridge Town might sound generic, the throwaway NPCs feel unique -- not fantastic, but I like it whenever the NPCs say unique dialogue when there are a bunch of hacks like Jagold's where any non-plot-important NPC just says something completely generic if not just says what they said in the game the hack uses as a base.
It just needs some better sprites.
>>21957138With Whirlpool, we can head toward Celeste Town after a short route. It has a teleporter to send you to your hometown (not really needed since you should have Fly by now but I see it being nice just in case you're going without) and going into the city you find your rival again. She tells you one of her Pokémon has gotten sick so she can't battle the 8th Gym Leader yet (earlier on she challenged you to a race to see who could get all the badges first) and wishes you luck.
The 8th Gym is Psychic-typs. Is the Leader Mauro in a straightjacket? I honestly can't tell due to the wonky sprite.
Mauro has Wobbuffet/Alakazam/Espeon/Slowking, the highest at Lv. 42, a jarring level jump to be honest, took me a couple revives to beat him especially with all that bulk.
Upon beating him, I learn the badges have all been stolen by some hooligans. I have to track them down to get the final badge.
