I wonder if schools or the police would step in to interfere. Would personality alteration count as a 'dress code violation', or break some sort of law? It's their choice to scramble their brains, after all. And depending on the nature of the brainwashing, they might not remember even getting it in the first place, so stepping in as a parent or a teacher might legitimately stress and upset them.
Then of course, there'd be freaks who'd want to 'become' pokemon and would walk around the street naked and screeching, legitimately believing they're a Garchomp. Wonder what would be done about those.
