I've always like frogs. Dunno why, they're just rad. We have a cattle pond that fills with water during our rainy season, becoming a makeshift pond in the desert. The local desert frogs awaken from the moisture and flock to the pond to do what frogs do, so one time hunting poliwogs I fell in face first. Nostrils full of cowpie and frogspawn soup, but I digress. The aforementioned poliwog hunting tradition snd the subsequent raising of them gave me a great love for the little buggers, so when my 6 year old self saw the Poliwag line I fell in love. I even dressed up as Poliwhirl for Halloween one year. Things got better when they got Water Absorb in Gen 3. I've used one in at least one run of each generation and my loyalty was rewarded in Gen 5. Dicking around in Wellspring Cave back in May of 2011, I forgot that you could find wild Poliwraths. Imagine my suprise when the second one I encountered was green. Needless to say, that nigga was mine. Brought it down to yellow, tossed a Net Ball and amazingly got a Critical Capture. Checked it's IV's later, and while not perfect, they are sufficient for Magnus the Poliwrath to wreck some shit, I just need to give him a Ability Capsule to give him glorious Water Absorb. He's going to be the first pokemon I transfer via Bank.
