That would be way more interesting and useful than "welp, this gym is water so I guess I'll just drop Pikachu or some grass type in front and mash A until I get a badge."
I don't mean they have to drop favoring certain types entirely depending on what the strategy is, just that it's not good that the concept of a gym hasn't evolved for 20 years while the players have. Imagine there was a gym that had a weather theme built into all of the teams or if there was a gym that was all about misdirection and status/utility moves. Pushing things like this more would actually teach players about the game and make them git gud.
