What's with the near absence of functional marriages in pokemon media? Nearly all moms and dads appear to be single, Clay being the latest addition since they made sure to give no details on the mother of his child despite repeatedly mentioning he's her father. Even in the case of Sada and Turo one seemingly ceases to exist in the opposite game of the other and never appears onscreen/is only briefly alluded to in the vaguest terms possible. Is it just marketing fixation on having every single character in the universe seem single and available to not alienate any potential waifufags?
