Here's an outline of how I think the story/premise is gonna go down based on the very little we know so far, with my own hopes
>The story involves Red and Blue returning from Alola to modernize Kanto for a new generation of Pokemon trainers, traveling across the land introducing elements like Mega Evolution and Z-Moves to worthy trainers and building several new Battle Facilities along the way.
>The player character and rival grew up hearing all about the legendary trainers and decide to visit them and are surprised when the two offer them a pokemon of their own to start their journey, either Pikachu or Eevee.
>The player and rivals journey through Kanto mirrors that of the original heroes, but full of unique twists along the way, the natural result of it being 10-20 years later. Along the way they encounter the dimension hopping Team Rainbow Rocket, traverse the sevii islands, battle legendaries, and take on the new gym leader of Viridian City, a trainer named Leaf who began her journey shortly after the Pallet Town duo, and eventually battle each other to claim the title of Champion.
>Finally, it's revealed the reason Red and Blue went on their little mission in the first place, was to get their own home region of Kanto ready to host the Pokemon World Tournament!
>Now the player and rival are ready to prove their worth by duking it out with the gym leaders, trial captians and champions of the entire world, including the very two battle legends who ushered in their journey, to be the very best like no one ever was.
