In this setting, he and his mom got caught in some sort of explosion or accident (RIP mom) and his dad did everything in his power to keep Miko alive using "cutting" edge cyber tech, making this Miko somewhat more tech than person. While Miko cares more about the act of gambling than wealth itself, cyber Miko is the opposite. He'd do anything to get his hands on some extra credits.
