It's when you have a gamer system and then a crossover with like 5 different power systems from different series unrelated to the universe at hand and retarded references and character cameos because it's le cool xd that it's cringe. Too much shit clutters the concept.
Systems are best when they're straightforward—how does a particular universe deal with a dude whose power is to get progressively better? How does a guy match potential demigods with this power? How does he develop it—what does he spec into, what do mundane skills turn into, and how does he acquire them? There's a reason they're so popular, they're just more fit for universes with a higher power ceiling. Worm, One Punch Man, MHA even. Otherwise the MC will be immediately better than everyone, or the gains from the system will have to be really low to compensate, which is boring.
