>What I'm saying isYou're saying what you're "feeling", not explaining what's there. The new pose gives her the classic "listen here you little shit" look that communicates her know-it-all nature very effectively. The old pose communicated... gracefulness, I guess? And she did that weird finger gesture that doesn't seem to mean anything, usually associated with a throwing motion (you see card game protagonists use it often).
>The older artstyle looks much better in my opinion because sugimori artstyle gave it a strong identityWhen people like you talk about "old Sugimori art" they ALWAYS talk about pic related. What the anime looked like. The problem is - this has fuck-all to do with Sugimori. Ashnime took his art as a base and redrew 90% of it to fit the animation purposes. Characters became tall and slender, so did many Pokemon (Sugimori's Pikachu looked like a round ball, but this had to be changed for the animation), and practically all costumes were changed completely. You're trying to argue for Sugimori's old artwork because you think everyone liked it, but in reality, no one gave a shit about his old artwork because we barely ever saw it outside of TCG. Sugimori became far more prolific from the DS era forward, honing his skills and making tons of promotional art for the games. That's when everyone actually started to notice him. Sugimori's new style defines Pokemon far more than his old style ever did.
