I think Ecruteak is the perfect place. It itself is interesting but then you have access to so many things not too far away. The farm and Olivine, the park and Goldenrod, and the Lake of Rage. I imagine a real life Blackthorn city would be a neat place to visit as well. It would have a great aesthetic.
