After pulling through most of the postgame and beating the infamous veteran trainer in Challengers Cave, I decided to head for Cynthia before tackling the League: figured she would be the same level as everything else by point.
Turns out she's higher than the actual League rematch, despite the game giving you no warning, and while Bianca, who is much weaker, for some reason is gatekept until you beat Alder. So my guys were suddenly put in front of a ~15 level gap against one of the hardest boss fights of the 2D era, and her Milotic proceeded to effortlessly sweep my entire team.
So my character ends her story drinking drowning her sorrows in a glass along Mifune, who only survived thanks to his early retirement. Favourite location by the way.
Final note: Golurk rules, I had no idea they were so fucking tanky.
