as probably the only thing allowing us to classify this as any kind of "multiplayer" run, we have reached the first (non-ignored) checkpoint for the multi-LP's showdown tournaments using ingame teams (or the closest things possible when accounting for not being able to use custom moves/pokemon/items)
so if you've gotten the Diamond Punch badge (second badge, obtained from talking to Keta's ghost after the Carotos shitshow) then just stay put and don't do any story/gameplay progression if you want to participate in the tournament
