Surely following this logic Gyarados would get Crunch so that it would have a decent Dark STAB after Mega Evolving, right? I mean, literally all the other Mons got new moves that they needed. Gyarados even learns Bite immediately when it evolves from Magikarp so it's only natural that it would get Crunch, right?
Nope. Fucking nope. Game Freak is doing this shit on purpose. Gyarados didn't even have any Flying STAB until finally getting the shitty two-turn inaccurate Bounce from Gen IV Move Tutors.
