That anime was extremely popular back in the day - and Aramis was popular enough to even get her own spin-off, so it's not like it was some obscure reference; Virizion being based on the Toei Aramis is something most Japanese kids would have concluded on their own, as they would have been very familiar with that incarnation of the character.
You really need to stop guzzling cum and realize that Pokemon is made for the Japanese audience first, and everyone else second; of course they're going to go with the Japanese version of a character for their primary inspiration before all else.
