>>34110129Delta Episode was like an hour long in an already pretty damn short game. Sure you can say that's post-game story content, but it's not MUCH.
As an example, Megaman Battle Network 3 offers something like 45-70 hours of gameplay in the main story, then offers another 5-15 hours of gameplay in the ACTUAL POSTGAME STORY. After that, you're turned loose on the game and given the opportunity to go through a number of challenges and collections (which could take you god knows how long), culminating in the ability to fight a bonus version of the final boss and achieve 100% completion. This all ignores that you can easily extend the life of the game through customization, collection, trading, interacting with the other version(s), and battling with friends.
THAT should be the standard that studios should hold themselves to. You shouldn't slap an endless corridor of enemies onto a corner of the map and call it "postgame content", and you shouldn't pretend that your game is bigger than it actually is. SM and USUM aren't $40 games. They're $25-30 games with a markup for being Pokemon games. GameFreak should be ashamed of themselves at how incompetent they look compared to other studios doing the same shit.
Complacency is the enemy of game design and development. Anybody that encourages it needs to step aside and let somebody else do their job.
Dontchu ever come at me with some piss-weak argument like "an hour is totally fine" ever again.
