The games aren't deep or interesting enough to discuss at length. The competitive scene is a dicerolling joke that like 0.00001% of players actively participate in. The TCG is dead gameplay-side due to powercreep. All you're left with is a few spin-offs, mobile games (/pmg/ is just like this thread anyway) & flavor-of-the-month fan projects.
It's not that coomer threads are better, but they're on the same level as numerous troll threads and genwar baits. At least by sharing art of talented artists there is a non-zero chance they'll get a drip of attention and draw more, which is more than "Gen 2 genwar" thread can say.
