There's also a theme of "things are not as they seem" in several parts of the story: Team Star not being bullies but bullying victims, Arven seeming like an asshole when he's actually a sweet and caring person, the professor being just a mere AI clone, the scary ogre actually being an innocent creature that has been wronged the whole time, etc.
