>>53229369>pokespeak served more to convey emotion and intention than exact informationThis is a nice in between, I still think fully evolved mons/ones we know are 'smart' could communicate more clearly with those who raised them, but that fanfics idea seems like it would be the majority of cases. That's why most trainers would keep their mons out when making camp at night, besides for their own comfort. Since their sense are assumedly better than ours, it'd be nice for you to have a basic 'over there' or 'bad intentions' warning if you get woken up at night.
>>53229379>Would you participate in the Pokémon league and their rules?I'd like to say yes, but I might discover something along the journey and decide to settle down early, but not before I travel and see all the region has to offer. I'm not sure I'd want to deal with all the responsibilities of being a champion, but being a Gym Leader would be cool.
>If not, would you carry more than 6 Pokémon? Not on my person, because that's a lot, but for every region up to Unova I've got an average of 12 favorite monsters, so in that case I'd end up as a rancher NPC or something to have an excuse for owning so many.
>What are some other methods to gain power, status or success in the Pokémon world aside from battling?Breeding, no doubt about it. Whether it's low intensity like simply churning out Togepi eggs or similar, that usually end up being a little kids first partner because they're easier to teach and raise, or compfag tier, where you have high profile clients like Tower Tycoons, Leaders, and Leagues asking you for perfectly bred eggs with specific traits or egg moves if those exist. You'd probably make a killer living either way if you run your own business.
>What would your squad be for day to day life? Where battling is a small portion of your use cases but still a use case?Flyer, surfer, tank/sweeper depending on previous choices, and companion-mon. Add more to personal taste.
