Electric Tale was a fun adaptation because while it did use some anime plots, it would change them up a bit, like maybe Misty or Brock will be absent from a chapter or Ash catches a fucking Fearow.
Sometimes it would even make some new stories, like the one where Bulbasaur climbs a tree to snub a legend.
The Journeys adaptation isn't bad, it's just... seeing the episodes again but in book form.
