>>35902369>This is the most flawed defence of this game, and here's why: imagine if a player who has picked up LGP/E decides to go back and play USUM. How fucked would they be with not only the increased difficulty but also the random battles?Considering the first major fight in the game teaches you about type effectiveness... not that fucked, if you go to USUM from go, you still have most of the core mechanics carry over, just the catch and encounter mechanics are different (trainer battles are the same). You also make it sound like they wouldnt be able to cope with not knowing if or when a pokemon would appear
>Considering all you need to challenge Brock's gym is a Water/Grass pokemon (and I'm assuming you need type effective pokemon for every gym), you'd only need to catch one pokemon and beat Brock's gym. Everything else does not matter. You only need the grass/water pokemon to get past the guide, you dont need it for the gym. It is also only for the pewter gym and is a quick way to suggest strong type match ups for the fight for players who may not be aware of the system
>How would EV training work? They have candies that boost stats, if you feel the need to make your pokemon faster, however this is not intended to be the perfect iv battle sim, thats something more the focus of the 2019 game
