My run started off terribly. I wouldn't catch anything until I could trade, which meant going to the catching tutorial with Wally with my Mudkip Starter. I wanted to avoid every trainer. I managed to run into every. single. one.
This is a Dexnav only run, meaning I can only catch the first non-dupe encounter my Dexnav picks up. While this gives me the occasional egg move, it's also a hindrance since, in my experience, cave encounters don't show up until your dexnav also checks for Surf encounters. Meaning that until I beat Norman, I can't get anything at Rustuff tunnel, Granite Cave, Fiery Path and Meteor Falls.
True to form, Hudson started to disobey me from level 11 onwards, but I had a theory I wanted to test....
>RoxanneI lead with Hudson who just loafed around for two turns. Luckily Totos are pretty bulky. On the 3rd turn, he finally shot his water gun bringing Geodude to sturdy. I switch in Pelison on the heal and oneshot with Water Gun.
>NosepassI send in Bolson on a Harden. Nose Hardens again while Bolson Yawns. I heal Hudson on the Truant turn and get Tomb'd. I send in Hudson when Nose falls asleep. I had this theory that disobedient pokémon listen more if their enemy is higher leveled. And it seemed to work, Hudson shot two Water Guns in a row bringing Nose to 50%. But when Nose woke up, Hudson lost interest. Hudson took a few tackles before finally responding with a crit Water Gun that let the nose live on about 3hp? I send in Joskason on another Tackle, but her Tackle does literally nothing. Nose lives on 1hp. Another tackle finishes it!
>>53991490Thanks! I'm rooting for your Mizaru to reach the blessed HoF.
>>53991092It's my favorite starter, so I hope he'll go far :). and yeah, if you have a water starter the Gen V rivals always kick ass. Simisage is genuinely strong.
>>53990984After Torba lived on 1 against Drake, he deserved the HoF. Speed shittery did him dirty.
>>53988291Thanks for the compliment :). I really like your team!
