Leader: Godwin
Badge: Pressure Badge
Specialty: Water Pokémon
Reward: Dive HM and the ability to use it outside of battle.
Gimmick: Trainers looking to challenge the gym either take a ferry or surf out to a man made platform similar to an oilrig out in the water. On this platform trainers are greeted by an attendant who would provide them with the Dive HM, they would be allowed to use it within the facility, and take them down a large elevator to the gym. The gym itself is an underwater facility with rooms locked by key cards that either allows access to different rooms or air locks. Trainers would use Dive at the air locks to travel to different parts of the maze like facility in order to progress, fighting wild Pokémon in the water between areas and trainers insider the facility. For trainers getting their final badge the idea I have for this gym makes it more the size of a full dungeon, where trainers have to dive to multiple areas and gather card keys. For those midway through their journey They might only have to pass through two airlocks to get the card keys they need to face the gym leader, and for beginning trainers the facility will be a straightforward single room maze with trainers and you just pass through an airlock at the back of the room to face the gym leader. Also, I envision the atmosphere being different for different trainers. Beginners would see a brightly lit facility, nothing particularly intimidating about it, whereas for high-level trainers most of the light would come from the bluish light of the windows and everything would be pretty dark.
For beginning Trainers:
1. Staryu Lv. 12
2. Carvanha Lv. 14
For a trainer with ~3 Badges:
1. Clauncher Lv. 21
2. Starmie Lv. 26
3. Sharpedo Lv. 30
For a trainer’s Final Badge:
1. Jellicent (Male) Lv. 45
2. Clawitzer Lv. 45
3. Wailord Lv. 46
4. Starmie Lv. 48
5. Sharpedo Lv. 50
I wanted to give the Pokemon a deep sea vibe, and I think these do that very well.
