When I first got my Blue version, I started the game with Bulbasaur, but he started sucking shortly after Brock. So I just used my NidoranF (my "rabbit") all the way. In Mt Moon I found a Moon Stone and tried to use it because why the fuck not, and my then Nidorina could use it.
Now, it was already awesome to have a final evolution as soon as that. But from that point on she could wreck the shit out of everyone, and later on she could learn all the good moves I tried to teach it, and by the time I reached Elite 4 she was on her mid 80s, so she pretty much raped everyone with Body Slam, Thunderbolt and Earthquake. Beating the Elite 4 with it alone got me euphoric.
