Turns out focus blasts hurt. Also, I could have sworn they required a cooldown period like Hyper Beam but apparently not. Still, I squeaked the win out and Red ran off (Presumably crying)

Demandred and Shuckie were total bunkers when I needed to absorb hits. Taim was a special attack laser.. Rodel was a glass cannon but breath of fresh air after the frustration of octillery. Matrim was great offensively but also surprisingly strong defensively. He could tank Stab Psychics! I couldn't believe it! And of course, starters are based when they make it to the end. This could be recency bias, but I think this is my favorite championship team ever. Speaking of which, I need to take some time to modify my usual template cause I have fun out of room to fit all my champs. i am going to mess around with that and might post 1 or 2 for feedback/testing if it fits on this board. I also have a little surprise change planned for going through Soul Silver.
