I'm running one of these out of beta 1.25, back when mystics were insane. What class do you plan on playing? I'd say Ace Trainer for Comrade feel, Martial Artist for Zangief and real soviet power, possibly breeder/coach cross class for the insanity that insues, if that's still a thing.
As far as 'mons go, either of the bears, Steel types in general (Magnezone screams Soviet to me, dunno why), bulky fighters, Swinub line, and Golurk are the things I think of.
