Like, the wikipedia page itself seems to be really inconsistent, and most of their "sources" lead to sites that you have to pay to access or have no sources of their own and pull random numbers out of their asses.
Take Spider-Man and Superman's page for a second, the say Superman only made 5 Billion buckaroos (despite... y'know being Superman, who i think has made more that that in his entire lifetime) with 1.8 billion in merchandise... but they only account for the merchandise sales from 2013, 2015, and 2017... and that's it. They don't account for any of his nearly 80+ year history of merchandise.
Same with Spider-Man, who in 2014 ALONE made upwards of 1.3 Billion in merchandise... but apparently in his ENTIRE existence has only made 14 billion. But then you compare this to batman whose in the top 3 because of his merchandise sales (despite Spider-Man consistently having far higher merchandise sales worldwide) and only having that number because one random article said that he made 18 billion... and that's it.
So what i'm trying to say is, is that this article is garbage. Though i'm sure Pokemon is still on top.
