Aesthetically pleasing, stylized cartoon animal. Can be cool, cute or weird as long as it looks good. It may even have some additional theming beyond being an animal with an element, as long as it isn't too on-the-nose or makes it look retarded. Donphan is a great example of a successfully themed Pokémon, being based on a tire as well as an elephant, without looking stupid.
>Bad Pokémon design:
Unpleasant-looking creature or concept that tries to sell itself with its "theme" instead of actually being appealing. Very pretentious as a result of relying on "depth", often liked by pseudo-intellectuals and Digimon fags. Some good examples of this are all the fully evolved starters from Gen 7 and 8.
