>>35418849Not in the same way a human can. They can direct each other and organise but their planning and abstraction is likely sub-par unless they're a legendary or 3rd evo. Trainers also while not usually able to use abilities themselves are a lot tougher than most pokemon and can protect them if things go to shit. Trainers are a requirement for most mon to reach their full potential, which is why you almost never see stage 3's in the wild or in PMD games. This is also why shitmons hurl themselves at you constantly in the long grass, they want to get on your team so they can grow and evolve. A pokemon with a trainer can reach their maximum in days with a competent trainer. Trainers can work with other trainers and procure items and trinkets a pokemon would struggle to get their hands on like stones and other things.
That said I like the idea of a gutsy or crazy pokemon giving it a go.
