They even went out of their way to make a third dragon, and they gave the ice type to it instead.

Its a perfect chance to design 2 cool-looking dragons that are not overdesigned edge like reshiram and zekrom. We would just make them red/orange & blue, and instead of truth/ideals, a meme duality, we could pick something more interesting and expandable like emotion/reason, order/chaos, pseudo-political themes form leftism/rightism, etc.
Also as for the starters, a trio of combinations with interesting type properties could be
>grass+fighting>fire+flying>water+rockWhere fighting/flying/rock is one of the few type trios that interact exactly like the grass/fire/water core, and when put together like this, every starter can hit another with 4x damage and is 4x weak to the one remaining. However 2 of these types have already been made for starters, and i'd prefer if we first came up with the concept for each starter individually and then gave them types.
