The justification for the relationship between Pokemon and human is that they can leave anytime they wanted to, but Munna, Bianca's Munna, Hugh's sister's Purrloin (BW2), and arguably Ghetsis' Hydreigon (BW2) all sit idly even though the game implies they can do otherwise. XY's story actually is a better demonstration of BW's theme as AZ's Floette is able to leave AZ when it doesn't want anything to do with him.
