>>48795555>>48799114>>48797838 here, just beat Cynthia with no affection mod and hardcore rules and my Gyarados died to the Milotic before it could reach Garchomp. I outsped the Garchomp by using Rock Tomb with Snorlax, another underappreciated move.The league was pretty fucking hard even with the absolutely busted team I got (Adamant Gyarados, Thick fat Jolly Munchlax from the Underground, 100% crit Honchkrow, Garchomp, +SpA nature Roserade, and Infernape. Only survivors were Roserade (killed -1 speed Garchomp with Dazzling Gleam) and Infernape.
The league being so difficult is a stark contrast to the rest of the game, despite playing around the level cap by switching the team constantly. Everything but the league is a bit harder than DP, but still easier than Platinum, even with the EVs in some trainers. Half of my other 10 deaths come from random high-leveled Pokémon from the Underground.
By the way, watch out for that Milotic. Even with a +4 attack boost my Gyarados coudn't do jack shit to it.
