There is no difference between an injected pokemon and a captured / hatched pokemon. Injecting allows getting right into the battle instead of wasting hours or days preparing a team. The current official ruleset allows Uber legendaries you'll need anyways if you hate smogon too, so have fun wormhole hunting for the legends you need (some only available in the other game), synchronizing, dealing with low catch rates just to reset because synchronize didn't work, EV training with SOS instead of hordes that you'll need to spend time getting battle items and pokerus for if you want it to go faster, and leveling to level 100 because bottle caps require that. Your legendaries from past games cannot be used in official battles because they do not have the current region's symbol in their summary menu. TPCI is fine with baby aegislashes in dream balls anyways. You can also edit the DS gen saves using TWL Save Tool and PkHex so there's no point breeding in past generations either.
