By cutting they take away the option to play the game, get a new set of bros, then afterwards explore the post game with old bros.
In short, I like the Pokémon franchise for the Pokémon themselves. Not the competitive, not the coom, not the dex completion. I just like Pokémon, specially the ones I've caught, trained, etc. It's not that much of an ask, GF are more than capable of having that option from the get go, DLC was not necessary. Just a greedy cash grab move. Have a whole game, with all the content. Simple as.
Taking Pokémon out of Pokémon is an unbelievable move.
