>>11726629Inside Banette, you continue to pound the scepter itself into the ruptured heart repeatedly, jabbing and jabbing with no consideration, no mercy, for the ghost in question.
"N-NO, PLEASE..PLEASE!"
You don't listen.
With your strength and power-up time lingering, you save up the next jab as the final one, mustering up all of your power to defeat Banette once and for all.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" as loud as you can, you IMPALE Banette's heart with the scepter, causing it to shrivel and dry up much like a dying leaf.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Banette's very fabric begins to unravel, as he has been killed again as a ghost Which means he is to be immediately taken to purgatory for the rest of his life.
Banette's body implodes, destroying both his heart and the scepter, and releasing his normal spirit as well. The ghost's implosion leaves behind a sticky goop of black waste that coats the buildings that cover the extent of the goop's radius.
You lie in the middle of the road, looking at your hands. You see your power-up disappear before your very eyes. Immediately afterwards, you look up and see Backpacker Clara.
You did it, she's free.
Quickly, she runs to reunite with the wanderer, who has forced himself down the flight of steps to meet up with her.
By the time they embrace each other, they are both old, frail people who barely resemble the people they were in their youth. With the magic gone, there just isn't any point to it anymore. Clara returns the wanderer's flower to him, but he crushes it with his fingers.
His true age is forever cemented with that action.
