What the heck were they thinking not having barrier NPCs like the later gens?
I entered with:
>lv.50 Nidoking (Ice Punch / Thrash / Iron Tail / Double Kick)
>lv.48 Ampharos (Thundershock / Fire Punch / Thunder Punch / Thunder Wave)
>lv.43 Meganium (Razor Leaf / Reflect / Body Slam / Synthesis).
Also joining me were: lv.25 Fearow, lv.28 Mantine, and lv.19 Shuckle as HM slaves/stragglers. They were basically sacrifices if I needed to use a max revive mid-battle.
>Ice Punch and Fire Punch dealt with Will, easily.
>Koga was Fire Punch, Thrash, and Thunder Punch.
>Body Slammed through Bruno, essentially. Managed to get a Paralysis streak. Machamp took some work but Fearow's weak Fly did some damage, before another Body Slam (post revival) fainted it.
>Cancan dancing with Karen, double kick style. With a touch of Fire Punch, and Iron Tail.
>For Lance, Thunder Punch Gyarados and then Ice Punch everyone else.
