For MD I'll be getting piplup and chickorita. Chiko has always been a favorite of mine, I always saw it as like a more slender bulba that you could use as a horse when it fully evolved and was pretty sad it turned out so bad in stats, but for MD it should be good, it will have a self heal and a range move. And Piplup is pretty much the best looking water starter and blizzard is a good AOE move.
