None of these mean they exist in the Pokémon universe as we know them in real life, the exist in the pokeverse as Pokémon. In Arceus you can even call Zoroua a fox and other NPCs also call them foxes. All it means is that people in the Pokémon universe use those terms to describe certain creatures just as we do IRL. Since that's the case you cut down any references pretty significantly.
