>>20588874I can remember it very vividly. It was late September, and I was home from school on a Tuesday because I needed to go to the doctor. I put on Kids WB to watch whatever that stupid shape show that use to be on at 9, but instead pokemon was on. (Turns out it was like the second week or so of it airing on the TV) It was the episode they were underwater from the S.S. Anne sinking. I thought Pikachu was some kind of cat, so I was instantly hooked. I tried to spread it to my friends, but only the one neighbor kid who was five years old at the time (I was 9) got into with me.
I also was a dick and made him erase his game so I could get Bulbasaur and Squirtle for my dex because I had no other way of getting it to complete my pokedexEven though I started using the internet in 1997, I never really spent a lot of time online until I started looking up pokemon stuff in 1998. I remember all the good shit like geocities, and pokegods, and how to get pikablu. I also remember the official site listed Jessie and James as 12 years old, and because I was 9 that seemed perfectly acceptable to me.
I also found out about Missingno. weird enough that way. No idea why they would list that on the official website.I got Blue for Christmas. The only time I nearly stopped playing was during Ruby and Sapphire when we were cut off from my favorite pokemon entirely for about two years. I'm hoping ORAS will make me hate the games a lot less since I no longer need to be bitter about losing my bros that have been with me since '98.
>>20589861>mfw both genders did that to me when growing up. Granted, by the time pokemon came out, the boys stopped caring and started playing games with me. It took me until High School to find other females who were as passionate about games as I was.I will never understand why some girls will go "LOL IM A GAMER 2 PLS :)" after all the shit I went through growing up on videya and computers.
