So this was my first time playing a Gen 3 game and it was pretty fun exploring a new world. Took tons of casualties along the way but since this was only the first of 5 runs through Hoenn, there was a large pool for me to draw on. Still, pretty annoying that I lost my starter again.
Elite four went pretty well, everyone shined at some point but Chani fought the hardest including a clutch earthquake on Steven's Aggron while being under the effects of toxic. Incidentally, I did get flamethrower on her after all when I realized that I could sell all the shit I wasn't using for cash.
La Llorona (Banette) basically swept the ghost trainer solo.
Apollo (Solrock) actually ended up fighting the Walrein line since rockslide was so strong and it was faster. Plus it was bulky enough to take the surfs that got through.
Paul (Walrein) was so fucking bulky and strong, I couldn't believe it. Swept Drake and took on Steven's Metagross 1v1. I thought that was going to become a PP war for a bit since we got stalled with his offense against my bulk and rest.
I was super paranoid for the whole elite 4 run since I have seen others get bodied there. Could not be happier that everyone made it. Plus I can ignore Zigs in the early game now!
Will probably roll for my Sapphire starter later.
