Oh yeah and Red exist too. He doesn't command his Pokemon, they just are trained really well and don't need orders to handle themselves in battle.

I don’t find it embarrassing. When I went to high school I remember being teased for still playing Pokémon but then I went to university last year and met lots of people who still play and we played SWSH together. Your age shouldn’t be a factor in what you enjoy doing.

I thought Pokémon showed us that when they brought Red and Green to Alola and aged them up. They also seem to pander and refer back to previous games often (which newer gen players might not have played yet).

In canon its probably Red, Ethan/Lyra, Nate/Rosa or Elio/Selena

Its stupid though because the other 3 besides Red are only here by virtue of potentially beating Red in a play through which is unknown if its canon so I suppose that means by default its Red since beating him makes you the strongest.
