Now to annoy /vp/ with my garbage.
In a setting/story I've been hammering away at, Dire pokemon are a thing. They're immense, beastly man-eaters, and are subsequently untamable. The wild areas existing in various regions are off-limits to the public and even to high-ranking officials such as gym leaders to even the E-4. Many believe the restriction is to mark as a wildlife sanctuary when in actuality they're Dire territory. Many Darwin Award nominees had been made of the ignorant trainers and poachers that enter and never return.
Rebecka is one such pokemon, raised in captivity as an experiment to whether or not Dires could actually be tamed at all. The answer is technically "no", but her relationship with humans and other would-be prey is a very odd one. For reasons few understand, she grew to monstrous sizes. Some believe it may have been the better care and robust diet she had access to while in captivity that she would otherwise not have in the while, while others suspect something else.
